Gustavus Adolphus senior cross country and track & field athlete Brooke Beskau (Hastings, Minn.) has been highlighted on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Student-Athlete Spotlight this week.  The Spotlight highlights student-athletes from across the conference each Tuesday and Thursday.

Brooke, a native of Hastings, Minnesota and graduate of Hastings High School, is a communication studies and literature education double major with a GPA of 3.970.  She is also an active member in the Gustavus community, volunteering for the Study Buddies program through the Gustavus Center for Servant Leadership, and serving as a leader on both the Art Team and Creative Writing Teams.

Beskau has finished in the top-15 in the women’s cross country team’s last two races.  At the Blugold Invitational on Sept. 30, she placed 15th with a time of 22:59, and last weekend she turned in her best performance of the season with an eighth place mark at Dan Huston Meet, crossing the finish line in 23:38.

Brooke and the rest of the women’s cross country team will be back on the course this weekend at the Tori Neubauer Invitational for its final warm-up before the conference meet.  This weekend’s race will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will take place in La Crosse, Wis.
