Gustavus Adolphus junior cross country and track & field athlete Beth Hauer has been featured on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Student-Athlete Spotlight this week.  The Spotlight highlights student athletes from across the conference each Tuesday and Thursday.

Beth Hauer, a native of Little Falls, Minn., is a Music major with a GPA of 3.944. An active member of the music department at Gustavus, Hauer also spends time volunteering for the Study Buddies program through the Gustavus Center for Servant Leadership.

Hauer has recorded two top-15 finishes in major meets so far this season.  The product of Little Falls High School placed seventh at the Saint John’s Invite with a time of 24:16, and 13th among a field of 325 runners at the St. Olaf Invite with a time of 23:17.

Beth earned both All-Conference and All-Region honors last season, taking 13th at the MIAC Championships and 28th at the NCAA Central Region Meet.

Hauer and the rest of the Gustavus cross country team will compete at the Blugold Invitational on Friday, Oct. 8 in Eau Claire, Wis.  The race will begin at 4:00 p.m.
