Women’s Golf Poised To Play in NCAA Championships on Tuesday

The Gustavus women's golf team, which automatically qualified for the 2011 NCAA Championships by virtue of winning the MIAC Championship last October, will be making its sixth consecutive appearance at the national meet. The women's championship will take place at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, May 10-13.

Men’s Golf Set To Begin Play at NCAA Championships on Tuesday

The Gustavus men's golf team begins play in the NCAA Championships on Tuesday, May 10 at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 72-hole tournament runs through Friday. The Gusties, who received an at-large bid to the championship, will be making their 18th appearance in the national meet, but the first since 2008.

Gustavus Adolphus College has been selected to host one of the eight NCAA Regional Tournaments for men’s tennis at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex in St. Peter this Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15.

Men’s Tennis Claims MIAC Playoff Title In Convincing Fashion

The Gustavus men's tennis team earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship by winning the 2011 MIAC Playoff Title with impressive wins over St. Olaf, 6-0 in the semifinals, and Carleton 7-2 in the championship match on Saturday in St. Peter. The Gusties will find out on Monday who and where they will play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, which will take place on May 13-15.

Baseball Wraps Up League Play By Sweeping Concordia

The Gustavus baseball team wrapped up Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a satisfying doubleheader sweep over Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties won the first game 6-1 behind the strong pitching of Kellan Euerle and then claimed game two 4-3 thanks to a clutch one-out, bases loaded single by Timmy Miller that scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Men’s Track & Field Competes At Meet Of The UnSaintly

The Gustavus men’s track and field team had 24 individuals record a top-10 finish at the Meet of the UnSaintly hosted by Hamline in St. Paul on Friday and Saturday. No team scores were kept, as it was the final regular season meet before the Gusties compete at the 2011 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14 in St. Peter, Minn.

Women’s Track & Field Takes Part In Meet Of The UnSaintly

The Gustavus women’s track and field team had a strong showing at the Meet of the UnSaintly hosted by Hamline University in St. Paul on May 6-7. No team scores were kept at the meet, as 24 individual Gustavus athletes recorded at least one finish in the top-10. It was the squad’s final regular season meet before competing at the 2011 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14.

Janey Helland Repeats As MIAC Heptathlon Champion

Gustavus Adolphus senior Janey Helland successfully defended her title in the MIAC Heptathlon, winning the event with 4,595 points on Friday in Northfield, Minn. Erica Roelofs and Laura Secor rounded out Gustavus' top competitors in fifth and tenth place, respectively.
