Schenfeld’s 76 Helps Women’s Golf Record Low Round of the Day At NCAA Championships Posted on May 12th, 2011 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team fired a score of 323, the low team score of the day, and pulled to within 12 shots of first place Methodist heading into the final round of the NCAA Championships, which are being held at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida.  The Gusties have compiled a 54-hole team score of 322-333-323–978, while Methodist leads with a total of 318-319-329–966.  Individually, Katie Schenfeld fired a round of 76, which also tied for the low round of the day and Schenfeld moved into a tie for third place with a 54-hole total of 80-83-76–239.

Individual scores for Gustavus in addition to Schenfeld’s 76 included Rikka Holiday and Annie Jackson with rounds of 82 and Kayleigh Dittes and Taylor Drenttel with rounds of 83.

All five Gustavus golfers are currently in the top 35 including Schenfeld in a tie for third (80-83-76–239), Holiday in a tie for sixth (77-83-82–242), Jackson in a tie for 23rd (83-88-82–250), Dittes in a tie for 26th (86-82-83–251), and Drenttel in a tie for 31st (85-85-83–253).

    Fantastic, what a great performance!! Your team has elevated Gustavus Women’s Golf to legitimate title contenders. It would have been interesting to see what one more day could have done. Congratulations to your entire team and to Coach Moe and his staff.
