The Gustavus men's tennis team picked up its second win of the weekend with a 9-0 sweep of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Sunday morning in St. Peter. The Gusties won every set of the day but one, which came in the hotly contested #1 singles matchup between Amrik Donkena and Chris Kuna.
The Gustavus women's track and field team compiled 69 points to finish sixth out of 18 teams at the Falcon Invitational held in River Falls, Wis. Janney Helland had an outstanding meet, taking first place in two events and adding an 11th place finish in another.
The Gustavus men’s track and field team compiled a two-day total of 44 points to finish in 11th place out of 18 competing schools. Blair Riegel led the Gusties with three top-10 finishes, taking third in the long jump, eighth in the 100-meter dash, and ninth in the 200-meter dash.
The Gustavus women’s tennis team suffered two defeats in the final day of competition to finish fourth at the Midwest Invitational held April 8-9 in Madison, Wis. The Gusties lost 7-2 to Dension University in the semifinals, then fell 5-4 in to Washington University (Mo.) in the third place match.
The Gustavus men's tennis team took a big step towards claiming its 23rd consecutive MIAC Regular Season Title with an 8-1 win over Carleton in Owatonna on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties, who are rated #6 regionally and #30 nationally, won all three doubles matches and then took five of the six singles matches against the Knights, who are ranked #11 regionally.
The Gustavus baseball team registered its first win in league play with a 10-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader at Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals bounced back to claim game two by the score of 8-2. Gustavus is now 3-11 overall and 1-3 in league play.
The Gustavus softball team swept Concordia on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, winning game one 9-1 and game two 8-0. With the victories, the Gusties move to 11-9 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC.
The Gustavus women’s tennis team defeated Luther College 7-2 in the opening round of the Midwest Invitational being held in Madison, Wis.
The Gustavus softball team won its first game of its MIAC doubleheader on Thursday 6-2 over Hamline and then had the second game suspended due to darkness with the score tied 7-7. The Gusties are now 9-9 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.
The Gustavus baseball team dropped a doubleheader to St. Olaf on Wednesday afternoon by the scores of 2-3 and 0-9. The Gusties are now 2-10 overall and 0-2 in MIAC play this season.
