Women’s Basketball Wins Double OT Thriller 67-58 Over St. Olaf

The Gustavus women’s basketball team came away with a thrilling 67-58 double-overtime victory over St. Olaf on Monday night in Northfield, Minn. With the victory, Gustavus improves to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC. St. Olaf falls to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC.

Gustavus Adolphus first-year swimmer Laura Drake has been named MIAC Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week for her efforts this past weekend at the Falcon Invite held at the Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Junior post Reed Sallstrom came off the bench to score a career high 11 points and help the Gustavus men's basketball team to a 67-56 win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon at Gus Young Court in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in MIAC play.

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team had a successful meet at the Falcon Invite held this weekend at the Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving competed at the two-day Falcon Invite held in the Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Friday and Saturday. The Gusties recorded two relay wins, as Kelsey Lucia was the top individual performer with two top-three finishes. No team scores were kept at the meet.

The Gustavus women's hockey team moved into sole possession of first place in the MIAC with a hard-fought 1-0 win over St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter. Tam Meuwissen scored the game-winner for the Gusties when she tipped a blast by Kirstin Peterson from the blue line past Tommie goaltender Alise Riedel at the 16:07 mark of the first period.

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s basketball team suffered a nail-biting 75-72 defeat at the hands of Concordia on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. With the win, Concordia improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC, while Gustavus falls to 2-3 overall and 1- in the MIAC.

Women’s Hockey Suffers 1-0 Setback To St. Thomas

The Gustavus women's hockey team suffered its first loss of the 2010-11 season falling to St. Thomas 1-0 in Mendota Heights. Danielle Justice made 23 saves in goal for the Gusties.

The Gustavus men’s hockey team moved into a tie for first place in the MIAC with a 5-3 victory over St. Thomas on Friday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink. With the victory, Gustavus improves to 7-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the MIAC, while St. Thomas falls to 6-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the MIAC.
