Women’s Soccer Stays Hot In 9-0 Victory Over Central

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s soccer team recorded its fourth consecutive win of the season with a 9-0 victory over Central College on Friday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Senior forward Ashley Anderson led the Gusties with five points in the match (2 G, 1 A).

The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department has announced the 2009-10 Female and Male Athletes of the Year and they are Melissa Mackley, a hockey player from Burnsville, Minnesota and David Martinson, a hockey player from St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Gustavus Adolphus first year player Amanda Cartony scored four goals as the Gustavus women's soccer team went on to defeat Martin Luther College 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon in New Ulm, Minn.

2010 Football Season Preview

The Gustavus football team enters a new decade with a great deal of optimism and energy as the Gusties look to return to the top four of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in the 2010 season. Second year head coach Peter Haugen welcomes back 34 letterwinners (17 on defense, 16 on offense, and one on special teams) from last year’s squad that finished at 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the MIAC (tie-fourth place).

The Gustauvs women’s golf team shot a team score 329 in the second day of competition to finish runner-up with a two day total of 665 (+85) at the Georgianni Memorial Invite held in Eau Claire, Wis. on Saturday and Sunday.

Late Goal Gives Women’s Soccer 1-0 Win Over St. Scholastica

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s soccer team finished Emblem Advantage Cup undefeated with a narrow 1-0 win over the College of St. Scholastica on Sunday afternoon in Duluth, Minn. The match remained scoreless for more than 80 minutes before Gustavus junior captain Meghan McMillan found the back of the net at the 82:12 mark of the match. Meghan Faricy was credited with the assist, her first of the season, on the game-winning goal.

Men’s Soccer Falls To St. Scholastica 2-0

The Gustavus men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to St. Scholastica at the Advantage Emblem Cup Tournament hosted by St. Scholastica in Duluth. The Gusties are now 1-1 on the season.
