The Gustavus men's indoor track and field compiled 79.5 points to finish in fourth place at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships being held over the weekend in Northfield, Minn.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Runner-Up At 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team went into the final day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a narrow one point lead over defending MIAC Champion St. Thomas. The Gusties could not hold the advantage on Saturday, as St. Thomas tallied 78 points, bringing it’s total to 158, and edging Gustavus by 28 points as the Gusties finished with a total of 130 points to place second.

Women’s Hockey Claims Seventh Straight MIAC Playoff Title With 5-1 Win Over St. Kate’s

The Gustavus women's hockey team continued its strong late-season play with a convincing 5-1 win over St. Catherine in the MIAC Playoff Championship on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink. With the win, the Gusties earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which begins next weekend.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Currently In Seventh Place At 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

After the first day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships taking place in the Recreation Center in Northfield, Minn., the Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team is currently in seventh place with 36 points. Max Hanson turned in the top individual performance of the day by winning the 800-meter run with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:52.54. Women’s Indoor Track & Field In First Place After Day 1 Of 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

After the first day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team sits in first place with 89 points. A fast start in the pentathlon, followed by a solid showing in the field events has put the Gusties one point ahead of second place, St. Thomas (88 points).

McPartland And Wirtjes Named To 2009-10 All-Conference Team

Gustavus Adolphus senior Ryan McPartland and junior Phil Wirtjes were named to the 2010 MIAC All-Conference team on Thursday afternoon. St. Thomas’s Tyler Nicolai was named MIAC Player of the Year, as Augsburg Head Coach Aaron Griess was named MIAC Coach of the Year. Senior Jesse Van Sickle was named Honorable Mention All-Conference and is a member of the 2010 All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships got under way the pentathlon on Thursday night in Northfield, Minn. The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team is off to a fast start, as Gusties filled three of the top five spots in the final pentathlon standings. Senior Kaelene Lundstrum defended her 2009 title in the pentathlon to become the two-time MIAC Champion in the event.

Women’s Hockey Advances To MIAC Playoff Championship With 5-0 Win Over St. Olaf

The Gustavus women's hockey team turned in a dominating performance against St. Olaf on Thursday night and advanced to the MIAC Playoff Championship game with a 5-0 win over St. Olaf at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter. The Gusties, who will be playing in the MIAC Playoff title game for the eleventh consecutive year, will host #2 seed St. Catherine on Saturday at 2:00 pm. The Wildcats advanced with a 4-3 win over St. Thomas on Thursday night.

Jens Brabbit Qualifies For 2010 NCAA Skiing Championships

Gustavus Adolphus Junior Jens Brabbit (Winona, Minn./Cotter) has qualified to participate in the 2010 National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Skiing Championships. The Championships will be held March 10-13 at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Howelsen Hill Ski Area in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Men’s Hockey Falls To St. Thomas 2-1 In Overtime in MIAC Playoff Championship

The Gustavus men's hockey team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to St. Thomas in overtime in the MIAC Championship Playoff game on Wednesday night in St. Peter. The Tommies got a goal from Chris Hickey at 3:27 of overtime to allow St. Thomas to knock off the top-seeded Gusties at Don Roberts Ice Rink. T.J. Ridley scored for Gusties lone goal.
