Men’s Hockey Set To Face St. Thomas in NCAA First Round Matchup Posted on March 10th, 2010 by

The Gustavus men’s hockey team will make its second consecutive tournament appearance when it hosts familiar foe St. Thomas in a NCAA First Round Tournament game on Wednesday night at Don Roberts Ice Rink at 7:00 pm.  The Gusties, who won the MIAC Regular Season title, received an at-large bid to the tournament, while St. Thomas, which knocked off the Gusties 2-1 in overtime last Wednesday to win the MIAC Playoff title received an automatic bid to the tournament.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students.  Everyone must purchase a ticket, no passes will be accepted.

This will be the third meeting between the Gusties and Tommies this season.  Gustavus swept the regular season series claiming a 4-0 win in Mendota Heights and a 7-1 win in St. Peter.  St. Thomas bounced back to win the third meeting by edging the Gusties 2-1 in overtime in the MIAC Playoff Championship game.
