Former Gustavus nordic skier Kevin Patzoldt, who was recently named to the December U.S. World Cup Team, will compete in a World Cup event in Ostersund, Sweden this weekend.

Former Gustavus Tennis Player Eric Butorac Set To Host Minnesota Tennis Challenge This Saturday

Former Gustavus tennis player and current tennis professional Eric Butorac will host the First Annual Minnesota Tennis Challenge this Saturday, December 5 at the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center in St. Paul. Butorac is bringing five of his good friends from the tour back to Minnesota for the event which will raise funds for youth development through the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center, the Rochester Boys and Girls Club, and St. Paul Urban Tennis.

Women’s Basketball Claims 72-66 Win At UW-Eau Claire

The Gustavus women's basketball team moved to 2-1 on the season with a 72-66 win over the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Eau Claire on Monday evening. The Gusties were led by senior captain Bri Radtke who scored 13 points.

Football Player T.J. Ridley Named To CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team

Gustavus football player T.J. Ridley (Sr., Edina, Minn.) has been named a First Team Academic All-America honoree by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Ridley, a four-year regular for the Gusties as a defensive back and special teams player, was a second team selection last year.

Men’s Basketball Drops Home Opener to UW-La Crosse 76-69

The Gustavus men's basketball team lost its home opener to UW-La Crosse on Sunday night in the St. Peter, by the score of 76-69. UW-La Crosse's Tony Mane (23 pts), Trevor Stratton (18 pts), and Andrew Haass (14 pts) combined to score 55 points in the victory. Gustavus was led by Tyler Gray who scored 19 points and Ryan McPartland who scored 12 points.

Men’s Basketball Slips Past Buena Vista 65-63 In Season Opener

The Gustavus men's basketball team opened the 2009-10 season with a 65-63 victory over Buena Vista on Tuesday night in Storm Lake, Iowa. Solid second half shooting helped Gustavus build a lead and hold on late as the Gusties shot 63.6% (14-22) from the field in the second half. Jesse Van Sickle and Dan Schmidtknecht were Gustavus's high scorers with ten and nine points, respectively.

David Martinson Named MIAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week

Gustavus senior forward David Martinson (St. Louis Park, Minn.) has been named MIAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week for the second straight week. Martinson registered five goals and one assist as the Gusties split the weekend series with Bethel by the scores of 5-6 on Friday, and 3-1 on Saturday.

Allie Schwab Named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week

Gustavus sophomore forward Allie Schwab (Stillwater, Minn) has been named MIAC Women's Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts in Tuesday's 2-3 loss to UW-Superior, and weekend sweep over Bethel, winning by the scores of 7-0 and 2-1. Schwab registered a total of four points (2 goal, 2 assists) in the three games.

Women’s Basketball Runs Past Wartburg 79-63

The Gustavus women's basketball used its pressure defense and fastbreak offense to run past Wartburg College 79-63 on Monday night in St. Peter, Minn. Bri Radtke and Molly Geske led the Gusties with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

Men’s Hockey Posts 3-1 Win At Bethel To Split The Series

The Gustavus men's hockey team bounced back from its disappointing 6-5 overtime loss to Bethel on Friday night in St. Peter with a 3-1 win on Saturday at the National Sports Center in Blaine. The Gusties jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead and then held on for the victory and a split in the series with the Royals. Eric Bigham, Patrick Dynan, and David Martinson scored for the Gusties. Josh Swartout picked up the win in the nets.
