Men’s & Women’s Nordic Skiing Set To Open 2009-10 Season This Weekend

Select members of the Gustavus men's and women's nordic skiing teams will travel to Ironwood, Mich., to take part in the season opening Grand View Cross Country Ski Challenge on Saturday and Sunday. The remaining skiers from the men's and women's team will compete at the Theodore Wirth Chalet, a 10 km race held in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sunday at 9:00am.

Women’s Hockey Falls To St. Olaf 3-2

The Gustavus women's hockey team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game at 2-2, but St. Olaf scored late in the third period to claim a 3-2 win at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter.

Women’s Soccer Player Alison Dittmer Named To NSCAA All-Region Team

Gustavus Adolphus senior defender Alison Dittmer was named Division III All-North Region Third Team on Wednesday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Dittmer is one of 12 MIAC players recognized with All-North Region honors.

Men’s Basketball Defeats Augsburg In Overtime 77-72

The Gustavus men's basketball team got it's fourth straight MIAC win on Wednesday night in Minneapolis, Minn., with a 77-72 overtime victory over Augsburg. Two free throws by Phil Wirtjes with three seconds left in regulation would send the game into overtime. The Gusties would then go on to shoot 4-4 from the field and 9-13 from the line in overtime, giving them the five-point victory. Seth Anderson and Ryan McPartland led all scorers with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Rothenbuehler’s Double-Double Helps Gustavus Roll Past Augsburg 80-39

First year post Abby Rothenbuehler recorded a career high 19 points and added a career high 15 rebounds to lead the Gustavus women's basketball team to a convincing 80-39 win over Augsburg on Wednesday evening at Gus Young Court in St. Peter.

Josh Swartout Named MIAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Gustavus junior goaltender Josh Swartout (St. Louis Park, Minn.) has been named the Men's Hockey Player of the Week for his sterling performances against St. Thomas last weekend.

Women’s Basketball Defeats Saint Mary’s 74-66 For Fifth Straight Win

The Gustavus women's basketball team moved to 3-0 in the MIAC with a 74-66 win over Saint Mary's in Winona on Monday night. Bri Radtke and Molly Geske led the Gusties in scoring with 16 points each.

Men’s Basketball Struggles Late But Holds On To Defeat Saint Mary’s 80-77

The Gustavus men's basketball team held off a late charge by the visiting Saint Mary's Cardinals and remained undefeated in league play with a 80-77 win. Jesse Van Sickle led the Gusties with 22 points. Gustavus is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC.

MIAC Names Carrie Gundersen Swimmer of the Week

Gustavus senior Carrie Gundersen has been named MIAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her efforts in last weekend's Falcon Invitational held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Gundersen won both the 500 and 1650 freestyle and placed second in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay. All four times are the fastest in the MIAC so far this year.

Men’s Swimming Takes First At Falcon Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming team took first place at the Falcon Invitational held in the University of Minnesota's Aquatics Center on Friday and Saturday. Skylar Davis was the top Gustavus swimmer, winning the 200 and 500 freestyle, and the 400 IM. The Gusties registered 995 points in the two-day swim meet.
