Women’s Soccer Gets Shutout 3-0 By Saint Ben’s

The Gustavus women's soccer team lost a conference match to St. Benedict on Saturday afternoon by the score of 3-0. The Gusties fall to 5-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the MIAC.

Offense Struggles As Football Falls To Saint John’s 38-10

The Gustavus football team lost to #6 Saint John's University 38-10 at Hollingsworth Field in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. The Johnnie defense limited the Gusties to 190 yards of total offense and forced four turnovers. Gustavus battled to stay close and pulled to within 14 points at 24-10 when Jordan Becker hit Eliott Herdina with a 26-yard pass midway through the third quarter, but Saint John's pulled away for the 38-10 win in the fourth quarter.

Volleyball Team’s Rally Comes Up Short In 3-2 Loss To Augsburg

The Gustavus volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the match at 2-2 against Augsburg in Minneapolis on Friday night, however the Gusties could not close out the match and ending up losing in five sets by the scores of 23-25, 16-25, 25-15, 25-20, 13-15. Gustavus falls ot 8-5 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC.

Football Set To Host Saint John’s At Lloyd Hollingsworth Field

Gustavus welcomes Saint John's University to Lloyd Hollingsworth Field on Saturday for an early-season Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-up. The Gusties enter the game with a record of 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC after defeating Hamline 30-24 in two overtimes last Saturday, while the Johnnies enter with a record of 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC after beating Concordia 31-19 a week ago.

Women’s Tennis Set To Host Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship This Weekend

Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts. The Women's Division III Midwest Region Championships will take place Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27. Live stats will be available all weekend through the tournament website.

Volleyball Falls To Carleton In A 3-1 Defeat

The Gustavus volleyball team lost a close four set match to Carleton College in St. Peter on Wednesday night. The Gusties were led by Malea Noennig's 43 assists and Nicki Ainsworth's 14 kills. Jenny Ewert guided the defense with 22 digs. Kelly Lovett led Carleton with 17 kills and 14 digs. The sores for the sets were 25-22, 28-30, 22-25, and 17-25. Gustavus drops to 8-5 on the season while Carleton improves to 8-3.

Bret VanderStreek Named MIAC Men’s Soccer Athlete Of The Week

Gustavus Adolphus College senior forward Bret VanderStreek (Pella, Iowa) has been named the MIAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week after he scored two goals in the Gusties 2-1 victory over Carleton on Wednesday, and the opening goal in Gustavus' 3-2 win over Concordia on Sunday.

Schenfeld And Griggs Named MIAC Women’s Golf Co-Athlete Of The Week

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Kali Griggs (Burnsville, Minn./Visitation) and Gustavus Adolphus College junior Katie Schenfeld (Indianola, Iowa) have been chosen as the MIAC Women's Golf Co-Athlete of the Week after they tied for medalist honors at the Division III Midwest Classic.

Men’s Tennis Plays Well At Drake Invitational

The Gustavus men's tennis team played well against mostly Division I competition at the Drake Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend. Coach Tommy Valentini's squad posted a record of 6-5 in the doubles draw and 4-7 in the singles draw.

Mark Adams Scores Twice In Second Half To Help Men’s Soccer Rally For 3-2 Win Over Concordia

The Gustavus men's soccer team remained undefeated in MIAC play with a 3-2 win over a scrappy Concordia squad in St. Peter on Sunday afternoon. The Cobbers scored twice early in the game and held a 2-1 lead at the intermission. Sophomore midfielder Mark Adams was the difference for Gustavus as his two second half goals allowed the Gusties to claim a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
