Gustavus Adolphus Set To Host MIAC Men’s Tennis Championships

Gustavus Adolphus College plays host this weekend as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference crowns a tournament champion in men's tennis. The host Gusties captured their 21st consecutive league title and earned the top seed in this weekend's tournament by going 9-0 in league play. The winner of this weekend's tournament receives the MIAC's automatic bid to the field of 41 teams for the 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships.

Softball Defeats Bethel, Then Falls To St. Thomas at MIAC Tournament, Will Face Hamline Next

The Gustavus softball team opened the MIAC Tournament with a 5-1 win over Bethel, but then lost to St. Thomas 4-1 in its second game of the day. The Gusties will now play Hamline in an elimination game on Saturday morning at 11 am. Erin Truebenbach was the winning pitcher in game one, Kirsten Prunty's two-run home run sparked the Gusties against the Royals. Rachael Click hit a home run for Gustavus' lone against St. Thomas.
