Women’s Track and Field Team in Fourth Place After First Day of MIAC Indoor Championships

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team is in fourth place after the first full day of the MIAC Indoor Championships which are being held at Saint John's University. Kaelene Lundstrum picked up her second first place finish of the championships as she won the high jump with an effort of 5 feet, 3 inches. The conference meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

Women’s Gymnastics Team Will Compete At WIAC Championships This Saturday

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team will take part in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hamline University. The top three team finishers at the conference meet qualify for the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships which will take place March 28-29 at Cortland State University in Cortland, New York.

Comeback Falls Short As Women’s Basketball Concludes Season With 73-64 Loss To Simpson

The Gustavus women's basketball team came up short in a 73-64 loss to ninth-ranked Simpson College despite composing a valiant second-half rally in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday night in Indianola, Iowa. After facing a 17-point halftime deficit, the Golden Gusties fought back to within two points with 8:17 left after Bri Radtke hit a three-point shot from the left corner, but were unable complete the comeback.

Kaelene Lundstrum Wins Pentathlon To Highlight Gusties First Day at MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

Kaelene Lundstrum, a sophomore from Bird Island, Minnesota won the Pentathlon at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a school and conference record total of 3,342 points on Thursday evening. The previous school record of 3,036 points was set in 1994 by Kristen Denato. The previous conference record was 3,317 points set by Ashley Dingles of Saint Mary's in 2005.

Women’s Basketball Faces Simpson In First Round Of NCAA Tournament, Game Broadcast Available On Internet

The Gustavus women's basketball team will face Simpson College in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday, Mar. 7 at 7:00 pm at Cowles Fieldhouse in Indianola, Iowa. Gustavus will audiostream the match through the Gustavus Athletics Broadcast page. Matt Thomas and Adele Burk will handle the play-by-play.

Men’s Indoor Track and Field Squad Set To Compete at MIAC Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus men's indoor track and field team is looking forward to the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships after spending the month of February participating in four meets in preparation for the conference meet. The meet begins on Thursday with the multi-event competition and runs through Saturday. The event is taking place at the Donald McNeely Spectrum on the campus of Saint John's University.

Women’s Track and Field Performer Kaelene Lundstrom Named MIAC’s Field Athlete of the Week

Gustavus track and field athlete Kaelene Lundstrum has been named the MIAC's Indoor Track and Field, Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Carleton Pre-MIAC meet last Friday. Lundstrum won the high jump with a school record effort of 5' 6'', placed second in the 55-meter hurdles, third in the 400 meters, and ran a leg on the winning 4 x 400 relay team.

Women’s Hockey Team Slips Past St. Thomas 1-0 To Win MIAC Playoff Championship

Gustavus senior forward Molly Doyle deflected a hard shot by teammate Kelsey Johnson past St. Thomas goaltender Lauren Bradel with 2:46 remaining in the third period to give the Gusties a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Tommies in the MIAC Playoff Championship game on Wednesday night at Gustavus. The Gusties, who improve to 25-2-0 on the season, receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as a result of claiming the playoff championship.

Vadnais Named To Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team, Radtke Receives Honorable Mention

Gustavus Adolphus women's basketball player Jess Vadnais (Sr., Hudson, Wis.) has been named All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference by a vote of the league's coaches with Vadnais also being named to the All-MIAC Defensive Team. Bri Radtke (So., Winsted, Minn./Lester Prairie) received honorable mention, while Molly Mathiowetz (Fy., Sleepy Eye, Minn./Sleepy Eye-St. Mary's) was named to the All-Rookie Team.
