Men’s Basketball Uses Big Second Half to Defeat Augsburg 69-56

Led by five players in double figures, the Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team outscored Augsburg 42-24 in the second half en route to a 69-56 MIAC win over the Auggies Monday night in Minneapolis. Phil Sowden scored 13 points to lead the Gusties, while Jay Stien added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Women’s Hockey Completes Sweep of St. Olaf With 6-3 Victory

The Gustavus Adolphus women's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of St. Olaf with a 6-3 win Saturday in Northfield. Jessie Doig scored two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist to lead the Gusties, who improve to 13-1-0 overall, 8-0-0 in the MIAC. Gustavus will face Bethel next weekend in a home-and-home series.

Women’s Swimming Finishes Fourth at UW-Stevens Point Invitational

The Gustavus women's swimming team finished fourth out of six teams at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational that finished up on Saturday evening. The Gusties were led by Carrie Gundersen on the second day as she claimed first place finishes in both the 200 free and the 1,650 free.

Men’s Swimming Finishes Second at UW-Stevens Point Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming team finished second at the seven-team UW-Stevens Point Invitational which finished up Saturday evening. The Gusties were edged out for the title by UW-La Crosse in the final event of the meet. UW-La Crosse totalled 807.5 points, while Gustavus finished with 799.

Nordic Skiing Tackles Freestyle Race at Mt. Itasca

The Gustavus Adolphus Nordic skiing team closed out its weekend at the NorAm SuperTour/NCAA Qualifier at Mt. Itasca Ski Area near Coleraine, Minn., by competing in Sunday's freestyle races. Kelly Chaudoin finished 19th overall in the 10-kilometer women's race to lead the Gusties, while Scott Kyser was the highest Gustavus finisher in the 15-kilometer men's race in 71st place.

Men’s Basketball Picks Up 79-70 Win at Macalester

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team opened the second half of the MIAC schedule with a 79-70 win over Macalester Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Andrew Doble led the Gusties with 21 points followed by 20 from Trevor Wittwer. Gustavus (9-7, 7-4 MIAC) will face Augsburg Monday night in Minneapolis.

Nordic Skiing Competes in Classic Races at Mt. Itasca NCAA Qualifier

The Gustavus Adolphus Nordic skiing team competed in classic technique races Saturday at the Mt. Itasca SuperTour Event/NCAA Qualifier near Coleraine, Minn. Scott Kyser posted the best finish in the men's 10-kilometer race (73rd overall; 29:58.9), while Laura Edlund had the best time in the women's 5-kilometer race (24th overall; 16:25.8). Freestyle races will wrap-up competition Sunday.

Hosfield’s Goal Lifts Hockey Team to 4-3 Overtime Win at St. Olaf

Senior forward Mike Hosfield scored a power play goal at 3:48 of overtime to allow Gustavus to claim a 4-3 win and remain undefeated in MIAC play at 8-0-0. The Gusties rallied from 2-1 and 3-2 deficits to post the hard-fought victory in overtime.

Women’s Basketball Defeats Macalester 58-42 For Fifth Straight Win

The Gustavus women's basketball team outscored Macalester 32-22 in the second half and pulled away for a 58-42 victory over the Scots in St. Paul. Three players scored in double figures for the Gusties including Bri Monahan with 12, Jess Vadnais with 11, and Bri Radtke with 10.

Men’s Swimming In First Place After First Day of UW-Stevens Point Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming team is in first place after the first day of the UW-Stevens Point Invitational. The Gusties were led by sophomore Matt Stewart who picked up first place finishes in the 500 freestyle and the 200 butterfly. The meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon.
