Women’s Indoor Track and Field Fourth at MSU’s Ted Nelson Classic

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team racked up 88 points to finish fourth at the Ted Nelson Classic Saturday hosted by Minnesota State Mankato. Funto Okanla and Kourtney Joyce picked up first place finishes in the 60 meter dash and 5000 meter run, respectively. The Gusties return to the track next Saturday when they participate in the Minnesota Parents' Day Invite at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.

St. Thomas Blanks Men’s Hockey 3-0

The Gustavus men's hockey team dropped its third straight MIAC contest Friday night with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of league-leader St. Thomas in Mendota Heights. The Gusties fall to 12-7-1 overall, 7-4-0 in the MIAC, while the Tommies improve to 13-7-0 overall, 10-1-0 in the league. The teams complete the home-and-home series Saturday night at 7 pm in St. Peter.

Women’s Tennis Topples North Dakota 8-1 and Nebraska-Omaha 7-2

The Gustavus women's tennis team swept a pair of duals from Division II North Central Conference schools University of North Dakota 8-1 and University of Nebraska-Omaha 7-2 Friday night at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties improve to 2-1 on the season and will face both schools again Saturday.

Women’s Basketball Sprints Past Augsburg 67-44

Sophomore guard Jess Vadnais scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Gustavus women's basketball team to a 67-44 victory over Augsburg Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. First-year Emily Nelson added 10 points, while senior Sara Boldt and junior Erin Boese finished with nine points for the Gusties, who moved to 17-5 overall, 15-4 in the MIAC.

Men’s Basketball Comes Alive in Second Half and Defeats Augsburg 70-50

The Gustavus men's basketball team got off to a slow start, but dominated play in the second half and claimed a convincing 70-50 win over Augsburg College in St. Peter, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties posted their fourth consecutive win, while the Auggies were tagged with their 13th consecutive loss. Phil Sowden led Gustavus with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Men’s Tennis Opens Home Slate With Pair of Wins

The Gustavus men's tennis team opened its home slate with a pair of victories Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Gusties opened the day with an 8-1 win over Minnesota State Mankato and wrapped it up with 9-0 win over Bethel in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tilt.

Men’s Indoor Track and Field Claims Third at Ted Nelson Classic

The Gustavus men's indoor track and field team claimed no titles at Saturday's Ted Nelson Classic hosted by Minnesota State Mankato, but a number of top-four finishes allowed the Gusties to place third in the four team field with 78.50 points. MSU easily outdistance the field, compiling 221 points. University of North Dakota finished second with 134.50 points.

Women’s Tennis Squeezes Past Nebraska-Omaha 5-4

The Gustavus women's tennis team ran its record to 3-1 on the season with its second win over Division II University of Nebraska-Omaha in as many days. Lyndsey Palen and Darcy Haubrick were both double-winners for the Gusties.

Men’s Hockey Downs St. Thomas 7-5

The Gustavus men's hockey team defeated St. Thomas in a game where the momentum switched numerous times between the teams, but in the end the Gusties won 7-5. The Tommies came out and scored a goal 24 seconds into the game, and scored the next goal for a two-goal lead. However, the Gusties battled back and were able to erase that lead early in the second period.

Women’s Hockey and St. Thomas Skate to a 3-3 Tie

The Gustavus women's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie against St. Thomas on Friday night at Don Roberts Ice Arena. The Gusties took a 3-2 lead late in the third period and looked like they might sneak away with a win, but the Tommies scored with 62 seconds left in the game to force the extra session. Gustavus' overall record moves to 15-3-2 and 12-0-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. St. Thomas is now 17-2-1 overall and 12-0-1 in the MIAC.
