Women’s Swimming and Diving Third at Carthage

Sophomore Sara Pfau recorded top ten finishes in four individual events to help lead the Gustavus women's swimming and diving team to a third place finish at the 2005 TYR/ Classic hosted by Carthage College on December 2-3. The Gusties scored 734 points, finishing behind team champion St. Cloud State (1141 points) and runner-up St. Olaf (798 points) and just ahead of host Carthage (705 points). The Gusties are idle until a January 14 dual at Carleton.


Men’s Basketball Claims Hard Fought 87-80 Win Over Concordia

The Gustavus men's basketball team shot 64.3 percent from the field (27-42) and 75.0 percent from behind the arc (6-8) and still had to battle to slip past a feisty Concordia squad 87-80 in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. Gustavus was led by AdamTeBrake with 21 and Trevor Wittwer with 19, while Concordia was led by Keith Eckhoff with 34. The Gusties are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC.

Women’s Hockey Downs Concordia 6-0

Junior Ingrid Neve and first-year Jenny Pusch each scored a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Gustavus Adolphus women's hockey team to a 6-0 win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon in Moorhead. The Gusties, now 6-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the MIAC, will face Hamline in a home-and-home series Thursday and Saturday before hosting UW-Stevens Point on December 13 to close out the 2005 portion of the schedule.


Men’s Hockey Wins 7-1 Over Concordia

The Gustavus men's hockey team scored early and often Saturday in a 7-1 win over Concordia in St. Peter at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Senior Keith Detlefsen (Lakeville, Minn.) tallied one goal and three assists to lead the Gusties. Gustavus is now 5-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the MIAC.


Women’s Basketball Edged By Concordia 54-52

The Gustavus women's basketball team fell to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC with a 54-52 loss to Concordia Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties, who trailed 33-27 at halftime, fought back to tie the score at 52-52 with 44 seconds remaining only to see Cobber junior Sarah Krabbenhoft hit a jumper with 28 seconds left on the clock and take the victory. The Cobbers improve to 2-4 overall and even their mark in the MIAC at 1-1. Gustavus will host St. Kate's on Monday, December 5.

Women’s Hockey Holds Off Concordia 2-1

Junior Andrea Peterson racked up 14 shots, recording only one goal, but it was enough to lead the Gustavus women's hockey team past Concordia, 2-1, Friday night in Moorhead. The Gusties improve to 5-1-0 overall, 3-0-0 in the MIAC, while the Cobbers drop to 0-6-2 overall, 0-2-1 in the league. The two teams will face off again Saturday at 2 p.m. in Moorhead.


Men’s Hockey Skates Past Concordia 7-0

Led by a pair of goals each by defensemen Jon Keseley and Keith Detlefsen, the Gustavus men's hockey team picked up its first MIAC victory and moved its record to 4-2-0 with a 7-0 win over Concordia College on Friday night. The Cobbers drop to 5-4-0 overall, 0-3 in the MIAC with the loss. The two teams will lace up the skates again and hit the ice on Saturday for a 2:05 face-off at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
