Andrea Peterson Named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week

Gustavus sophomore Andrea Peterson (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Hockey Player of the Week for November 15-21. Peterson scored three goals and recorded three assists this past weekend.

Rachel Batalden Given All-Region Honor

Senior setter Rachel Batalden was given honorable mention on the AVCA All-Region team for the 2004 season.

The Gustavus women's basketball team defeated Wartburg College 72-71 Tuesday night in the team's season opener. Senior wing Lacy Skoog led the Gusties with 16 points, including five points in the last 28 seconds to seal the win for Gustavus.

The Gustavus men's soccer team lost to the Univ. of California-Santa Cruz 1-0 in the NCAA Sectional Final played in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday night. The Gusties completed the most successful season in the program's history with a record of 18-2-3.

The Gustavus men's basketball team opened its 2004-05 season with a convincing 88-65 win over Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Doug Espenson scored 30 points to lead the Gusties.
