Men’s Soccer Has Strong Showing in MIAC Post-Season Awards

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) released its 2011 Men’s Soccer Awards on Thursday afternoon.  Three Gustavus players were named to the All-Conference Team, while three more were named Honorable Mention All-MIAC. The Gustavus men's soccer team used a Gabe Steinborn goal in the 89th minute propel them past Augsburg 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus picks up three points with the victory, improving to 13-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus men's soccer team played Carleton College to a 0-0 tie on Saturday afternoon in Northfield, Minn. Neither team could get the game-winner to earn three points in 110 minutes of play, as Gustavus moves to 9-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the MIAC, and Carleton goes to 3-3-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the MIAC.
