Men’s Basketball Battles St. Thomas For First Place On Saturday Afternoon
The Gustavus men's basketball team will battle St. Thomas on Saturday with first place in the MIAC at stake. The Gusties enter with a record of 16-4 overall and 12-2 in the MIAC, while the Tommies enter with a mark of 18-3 overall and 14-2 in the MIAC. Tyler Kaus hit a running layup with :01 left to help Gustavus rally from a 15-point second half deficit and defeat St. Thomas 59-58 at Gus Young Court in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties used an 18-0 run over a seven minute stretch in the second half to rally from a 13-point deficit (48-35 at 12:27) to a five-point lead (53-48 at 5:52). Tyler Kaus led the comeback with eight points including two long three-point baskets.
