Men’s Golf Takes Second At Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men’s golf team wrapped up the Twin Cities Classic on a blustery Monday at the Le Sueur Country Club, finishing in second place of 16 teams. The Gusties posted a 313 in the final round for a total of 890 (+34), seven strokes behind the winner Saint John’s. The University of Manitoba took third place, four strokes behind Gustavus.

Through two rounds at the Twin Cities Classic, the Gustavus men’s golf team remains in first place after shooting a 294 in the second round - which was played at the Elk River Golf Course - for a total of 577 (+6), which is three strokes ahead of Saint John’s and five ahead of the University of Manitoba.

Alec Aunan (Jr., Rock Island, Ill.) shot a career-best round of 67 (-5) in the first round of the Twin Cities Classic on Saturday at The Links at Northfork, leading the field of 91 golfers. Aunan’s round of 67 is tied for the third lowest round in program history. The Gustavus men’s golf team shot a collective 283 (-5) and is tied for first place with Saint John’s, while the University of Manitoba is in third place with a 292 (+4).

Men’s Golf Set To Host Three-Day Twin Cities Classic This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s golf team is set to host the Twin Cities Classic this weekend at three courses. Saturday’s first round is at The Links at Northfork in Ramsey, Minn., Sunday’s second round is at the Elk River Golf Course in Elk River, Minn., and Monday’s final round is at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn. First round tee times begin at 11:30 a.m., second round tee times start at 10:30 a.m., and third round tee times start at 10 a.m.

Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men's golf team finished second out of 17 teams at its own Twin Cities Golf Classic. The final round was played at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington, Minnesota. Saint John's won the tournament with a total of 294-291-295--880, while Gustavus finished at 289-290-308--887. Individually, Jordan Hawkinson led Gustavus finishing in a tie for second with a total of 72-72-76--220.

Men’s Golf Team Leads Twin Cities Classic Through Two Rounds

The Gustavus men's golf team is in first place at its own Twin Cities Classic after two rounds. The 54-hole event is being played at three courses including the Elk River Country Club on Saturday, the Links at Northfork on Sunday, and the Minnesota Valley Country Club on Monday. The Gusties (289-290--579) currently hold a six-shot lead over MIAC rival Saint John's (294-291--585) with 18 holes left to play.

Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a final-round 333 to place third at the Twin Cities Classic at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska. The Gusties' three-day total of 929 was 15 strokes off the pace set by team champion UW-Eau Claire (914) and nine back of runner-up Saint John's (920). Senior Erik Tone finished tied for ninth individually with a 54-hole total of 229 (+13). Gustavus will close out its fall schedule Oct. 30-31 at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Invitational in Chestnut Mountain, Ga.

Men’s Golf Tied for Third Entering Final Day of Twin Cities Classic

UW-Eau Claire shot a second-round 288 Sunday at the Links at Northfork in Ramsey to jump from fifth to first at the Twin Cities Classic. The Blugolds hold a seven-shot lead over Saint John's heading into the final 18 holes and a nine-shot advantage over both Central and host Gustavus. Erik Tone leads all Gusties with a 2-over-par total of 146 and is tied for fifth. The tournament concludes with 18 holes at Hazeltine National in Chaska on Monday.

Men’s Golf Second After First Day at Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus Adolphus men's golf team placed a pair of golfers in the top ten after the first day of the Twin Cities Classic at Elk River Country Club in Elk River, Minn. The Gusties, who trail Central by six strokes, fired a first-round 295 and sit one shot ahead of MIAC Champion Saint John's. Jordan Hawkinson is tied for third after a first-round 71.
