Softball Falls To Coe College 4-2, Earns Third Place At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus Adolphus College softball team saw its dream season come to an end after a 4-2 loss to Coe College on Monday afternoon in Montclair, New Jersey. The Kohawks scored a pair of runs in the late innings to break a 2-2 tie to grab a 4-2 lead. However, the Gusties put runners in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to pick up key hits to move them around. Gustavus, which received the third place trophy, finished the season with the program's first 40-win campaign at 42-9.

Defense Gives Women’s Basketball 68-63 Win Over Hamline

The Gustavus women's basketball team clinched at least a share of third place in the MIAC standings with 68-63 win over Hamline on Wednesday night in St. Paul. The Gustie defense compiled 17 steals and forced 28 Piper turnovers in the victory. Offensively, four players reached double-digit figures as Gustavus improved to 17-7 overall and 16-5 in the conference. Hamline maintained the final spot in post-season play, but fell to 12-12 overall and 9-12 in the league.

Men’s Tennis Falls to Middlebury 5-1, Places Fourth at NCAA Championships

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team brought its season to an end Thursday with a 5-1 loss to Middlebury (Vt.) at the NCAA Division III Championships in St. Louis, Mo. Andy Bryan, ranked fifth nationally in singles, picked up Gustavus' lone point with a win at No. 1 singles.
