Men’s Hockey Sweeps Augsburg With 8-4 Win

The Gustavus men's hockey team scored four goals in the first period and kept on scoring as the Gusties defeated Augsburg 8-4 on Saturday at Don Roberts Ice Rink. David Martinson led Gustavus with two goals and an assist as eleven different players recorded points. The Gustie win gave Head Coach Brett Petersen's squad a key sweep in the standings to stay in contention for home-ice advantage during the MIAC Playoffs as Gustavus improved to 12-7-0 overall and 7-3-0 in the league.

Strong Second Period Gives Women’s Hockey 5-1 Over St. Catherine

Three goals scored in a two-minute span in the second period helped the Gustavus women's hockey earn a 5-1 decision over St. Catherine on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. As the second period appeared to be ending with a 1-1 tie, the Golden Gusties scored three goals in the final 2:30 of the period to gain a 4-1 lead. Gustavus remained undefeated in MIAC play at 16-0-0 and improved to 21-2-0 overall. St. Catherine dropped to 9-12-2 overall and 6-9-1 in conference play.

Women’s Hockey Earns MIAC Sweep With 5-1 Win Over Hamline

The Gustavus women's hockey team moved to 2-0 in conference play completing a weekend sweep against Hamline with a 5-1 win at Don Roberts Ice Rink on the Gustavus campus. First year forward Allie Harwood led the Gustie attack with two goals, while Breana Scavo made nine saves and earned the win in the nets.

Baseball Sweeps Macalester 9-5, 12-4

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team improved to 17-9 overall, 11-3 in the MIAC with a doubleheader sweep of Macalester Tuesday in St. Paul. The Gusties took game one 9-5 and game two by a 12-4 margin. Mike DesLauriers went 7-for-8 with six runs scored on the day. Tony Konicek finished with four hits, including a triple, to become Gustavus' all-time leader in both categories.

Baseball Drops Pair to St. Scholastica 13-1, 7-0

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team stepped out of league play Sunday, falling to College of St. Scholastica 13-1 and 7-0 at Wade Stadium in Duluth. Tyler Kaus, Shea Roehrkasse, and Nate Ruff each picked up two hits on the day. Gustavus returns to MIAC action Tuesday, April 24 at Macalester.

Baseball Sweeps Doubleheader With Saint Mary’s 13-2, 9-5

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball team moved to 15-7 overall and 9-3 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a doubleheader sweep over Saint Mary's University Saturday in Winona. The Gusties took game one, 13-2, and game two, 9-5, in nine innings. Gustavus pounded out 28 hits in the two games, including a home run by Pat Siering and a triple by Tony Konicek.

Men’s Tennis Picks Up Trio of MIAC Wins Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team improved to 13-5 on the season and 7-0 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with league wins Saturday over Bethel (9-0), St. Olaf (7-2), and Saint John's (9-0). The Gusties, rated fourth nationally, face Division I Drake Sunday in Des Moines, Iowa, before hosting University of Nebraska-Kearney, St. Cloud State University, and MIAC foe Saint Mary's March 17.

Women’s Hockey Edges No. 5 UW-Superior 4-2

The Gustavus Adolphus women's hockey team defeated UW-Superior 4-2 Tuesday night in Superior, Wis. The second-rated Gusties behind two goals from Stefanie Ubl and two assists from Andrea Peterson, ran their record to 16-1-0 on the season with the win over the fifth-ranked Yellowjackets. Gustavus has a key MIAC series this weekend (Feb. 2-3) when they face St. Thomas.

Women’s Hockey Completes Sweep of St. Olaf With 6-3 Victory

The Gustavus Adolphus women's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of St. Olaf with a 6-3 win Saturday in Northfield. Jessie Doig scored two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist to lead the Gusties, who improve to 13-1-0 overall, 8-0-0 in the MIAC. Gustavus will face Bethel next weekend in a home-and-home series.

Baseball Sweeps Macalester, Moves Winning Streak to Seven Games

The Gustavus baseball team put 22 runs on the board Tuesday and ran its winning streak to seven games with a doubleheader sweep of Macalester in St. Peter. The Gusties took game one 11-2 and won game two 11-1. Shea Roehrkasse went 5-for-7 with two RBI, while Mike DesLauriers went 5-for-6 with two RBI to lead Gustavus. The Gusties improve to 21-10 overall, 9-5 in the MIAC and will travel to Bethel for a doubleheader Saturday.
