The Gustavus men's swimming team won its first competition of the season with 1,282 points over Luther (1,028) and St. John's (539) at the Lund Natatoruim in St. Peter on Saturday. The Golden Gustie women's swim team turned in its second consecutive victory with 1,289 points over St. Benedict (891) and Luther (764).

The Gustavus men's soccer team avenged last year's 1-0 overtime loss to St. John's by winning 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Collegeville. An early second half goal by Dane Obermeyer allowed the Gusties to build its current winning streak to four games. Goalkeeper Trevor Brown recorded his fifth consecutive shutout of the season. Gustavus is 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC, while St. John's fell to 2-2-2 overall and 0-2-1 in MIAC play.

The Gustavus men's basketball team was handed its first conference loss of the season on Wednesday evening, falling to St. John's, 63-54 in St. Peter. The Gusties, who trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half, closed to within five points with 1:46 left, but St. John's held on for the victory. Gustavus was led by Phil Sowden with 17 points. Sowden scored his 1,000th career point in the game.

The Gustavus men's hockey team lost 3-1 in a non-conference matchup against St. John's on Tuesday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Jon Keseley (Sr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) scored an unassisted goal in the second period, but the Johnnies' two goals in the first period were too much for the Gusties to overcome. Gustavus drops to 2-4-1 overall, while St. John's improves to 3-4-0.
