One Big Inning Proves Too Much To Overcome, Softball Ends Season With 5-3 Loss To Hamline

Much like in the opening game of the MIAC Softball Playoffs yesterday for Gustavus, the Gusties were unable to rebound after allowing a four-run inning, losing 5-3 to Hamline on Saturday in an elimination game. The Gusties finish the season 26-12 overall and finished second in the MIAC standings with a 17-5 league record.

Game-Tying Homer In The Seventh Robbed, Softball Falls To St. Kate’s 4-2 In MIAC Playoffs

The Gustavus softball team suffered a 4-2 loss to St. Catherine in the first round of the MIAC Playoffs on Friday evening. The game went down to the wire as Nathalee Boissiere (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) came inches away from tying the game in the bottom the seventh as she drove a fly ball to deep center field, but Megan Lindenfelser robbed Boissiere of a two-run homer to end the game. The Gusties now face Hamline at 1:30 pm. tomorrow in an elimination game. The Pipers lost to the host Tommies 3-2 in 10 innings.

Women’s Basketball Goes Down To The Wire With St. Thomas, Falls 50-48 In MIAC Semifinals

The Gustavus women's basketball team's season came to an end with a 50-48 loss at the hands on St. Thomas in the MIAC Semifinals on Thursday night in St. Paul. St. Thomas' Taylor Young was the hero with the game-winning jumper with just five seconds remaining in the game. Molly Mathiowetz led the Gusties with a game-high 22 points and eight boards.

Women’s Hockey Playoff Game with Hamline Postponed to Friday

Due to inclement weather in the region, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Hockey Playoff Semifinal between Gustavus and Hamline scheduled for Thursday evening has been postponed until Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Should Gustavus win, the Gusties would host the MIAC Playoff Championship game Sunday, March 4 at 1 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

Men’s Basketball Falls to Saint John’s in MIAC Semifinals 87-65

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball fell to Saint John's 87-65 in a MIAC Playoff semifinal game Wednesday evening at Sexton Arena in Collegeville. Gustavus, which closes its season at 14-13 overall, was led by a game-high 17 points from Andrew Doble.

Men’s Basketball Advances to MIAC Semifinals With 70-59 Win Over Carleton

The Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball team advanced to the semifinal round of the MIAC Playoffs with a 70-59 win over Carleton Monday night in St. Peter. The Gusties used a 27-9 run midway through the second half to erase a five-point deficit and take control of the game. Gustavus (14-13) will face second-seed Saint John's in a semifinal matchup at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Collegeville.

Led by 31 points from junior post player Bri Monahan, the Gustavus women's basketball team advanced to Wednesday's MIAC Women's Basketball Playoff Semifinals with a 62-52 win over Bethel Monday night in St. Peter. Gustavus will face second-seeded Concordia Wednesday night at 7:30 pm in Moorhead.
