Fall Camp In Full Swing For Gustavus Football

The Gustavus football team is back on campus and fall camp is currently in full swing. 114 players reported to North, Gibbs, and Sorensen Halls on Saturday, Aug. 20th, and pre-season training was underway. Kammerer, Lundquist, and Jonker Highlight Football Post-Season Honors

The Gustavus football team brought the 2010 season to a close with its annual banquet on Sunday, Jan. 9th in Alumni Hall. Seniors Dustin Kammerer, Brandon Jonker, and Zach Lundquist highlighted the event keynote awards section.

Dustin Kammerer recorded two forced fumbles and one interception in the game. 

Football Suffers 33-13 Setback To Saint John’s

The Gustavus football team fell to Saint John's by the score of 33-13 on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Gustavus falls to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the MIAC, while Saint John’s improves 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the MIAC.

Offense Ignites As Football Defeats Concordia 38-14

The Gustavus Adolphus football team got the offensive spark it was looking for on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn., cruising to a 38-14 victory over Concordia in its first road test of the season. Quarterback Logan Becker scored three touchdowns (2 pass, 1 rush), while attributing for 297 yards of offense, throwing for 256 yards (21-29) and rushing for 41 yards (14 att.) in the game.

Football To Take On Northwestern In Final Non-Conference Test Saturday

The Gustavus football team will take on Northwestern College in its final non-conference game of the season on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 1:00 pm in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties are 0-1 on the season, while the Eagles are 0-2.

2010 Football Season Preview

The Gustavus football team enters a new decade with a great deal of optimism and energy as the Gusties look to return to the top four of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in the 2010 season. Second year head coach Peter Haugen welcomes back 34 letterwinners (17 on defense, 16 on offense, and one on special teams) from last year’s squad that finished at 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the MIAC (tie-fourth place).

The Gustavus Football Team opened its 2010 preseason camp Sunday, August 22. A total of 110 players reported to St. Peter eager to begin a new season wearing the black and gold. The Gusties look to an experienced defense and a balanced offensive attack to bring success in 2010, which will open on September 11 against Wartburg College at Lloyd Hollingsworth Field.

Football Wraps Up Spring Drills On Thursday

The Gustavus football team will hold its final spring practice on Thursday, May 13, on Hollingsworth Field before departing campus for the summer. Coach Peter Haugen, in his second season with the Gusties, feels that the hard work demonstrated by both the players and coaches both in the upcoming months, and through spring ball, has built a solid foundation for which the team can build on for the 2010 season.
