Men’s Track And Field 4×400 Relay Qualifies For Finals At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's 4x400 meter relay team qualified for the event finals after finishing third in its preliminary heat with a school record time of 3:12.48 at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday afternoon. The squad bettered the previous record, which was set at the MIAC Championships at 3:13.62, by over a second. The NCAA Championships are being hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.

Men’s Tennis Falls To Washington University 5-3 In NCAA Quarterfinals

The Gustavus men's tennis team saw its season come to an end after suffering a 5-3 loss to Washington University in the NCAA quarterfinal round on Tuesday morning. The NCAA Championship is being hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College in Claremont, Calif. The Gusties finish the season at 27-9, while the Bears improved to 22-2.

Women’s Tennis Suffers 5-0 Loss To Amherst In NCAA Quarterfinals

The 13th-ranked Gustavus women's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to top-ranked Amherst College in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The NCAA Championship is being hosted by Oglethorpe University. Coach Jon Carlson and the Gusties wrapped up the season at 23-10 overall.

Six Women’s Track and Field Team Members Qualify For NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Six members of the Gustavus women's track and field team have been selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held May 21-23 at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. That group includes senior Lisa Brown, junior Kaelene Lundstrum, sophomore Sam Broderius, senior Elizabeth Pringle, sophomore Abby Karl, and first year Danielle Burgmeier.

Four members of the Gustavus men's track and field team have been selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held May 21-23 at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. That group includes senior Tyler Geyen (110-meter hurdles and 4x400 meter relay), junior Cole Carlson (400 meters and 4x400 meter relay), sophomore Colby Citrowske (4x400 meter relay), and sophomore Matt Leeb (4x400 meter relay).

Softball Falls To Coe College 4-2, Earns Third Place At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus Adolphus College softball team saw its dream season come to an end after a 4-2 loss to Coe College on Monday afternoon in Montclair, New Jersey. The Kohawks scored a pair of runs in the late innings to break a 2-2 tie to grab a 4-2 lead. However, the Gusties put runners in scoring position in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to pick up key hits to move them around. Gustavus, which received the third place trophy, finished the season with the program's first 40-win campaign at 42-9.

Women’s Golf Finishes Third At NCAA Championships, Griggs Places Tied For Sixth Individually

The Gustavus women's golf team posted a final round score of 325 to hang on for third place at the NCAA Championships out of 21 teams. The 72-hole tournament, was played at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Junior Kali Griggs (Burnsville, Minn.) wrapped up a strong tournament with a final round score of 79 (+7). Griggs finished tied for sixth overall (out of 111) with a 72-hole total of 77-80-78-79--314 to improve on her 84th place finish last year.

Kali Griggs moved into a tie for eighth place individually at 235. 

Women’s Golf Climbs To Third Place At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team continued to climb the scoreboard as it moved to third place at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships on Thursday at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida after shooting a team score of 326. The Gusties have a three-day total of 322-324-326--972. Methodist University remained in first place with scores of 321-310-310--941, while UW-Stevens Point stayed in second place at 322-318-320--960.

Women’s Golf Moves To Fourth Place At NCAA Championships After Second Day

The Gustavus women's golf team moved up to fourth place at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships on Thursday at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida after shooting a team score of 324. The Gusties have a two-day total of 322-324--646, which is 15 strokes behind first place Methodist University at 321-310--631. Individually, Kali Griggs is in a four-way tie for ninth place after shooting a second round 80 for a two-day total of 77-80--157.

Women’s Golf Set To Tee Off At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team is prepared to tee off at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday in Port St. Lucie, Florida at 12:50 p.m. (EST) along with Amherst and Middlebury. The 72-hole tournament, which will be played at the The PGA Golf Club, starts Wednesday, May 13 and concludes on Saturday, May 16. The Gusties are making their sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships.
