Men’s Tennis Picks Up Convincing Wins Over MSU, Mankato and Hamline

The Gustavus men's tennis team picked up a pair of 9-0 wins over Minnesota State, Mankato and Hamline University on Friday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Gusties played well in dropping only one set in the two matches. Coach Tommy Valentini's squad improves to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus men's track and field team opened its indoor season last Saturday at the MSU Open hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato. Chris deLaubenfels had a big day for the Gusties as he won the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:46.0 and finished second in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:03.68.

Women’s Indoor Track and Field Squad Opens Season at MSU, Mankato

The Gustavus women's track and field team opened its indoor season on Saturday by taking part in the MSU Open hosted by Minnesota State University. Kaelene Lundstrom got the Gusties off to a great start as she finished second in the heptathlon with a school record total of 3,203 points.

Men’s Tennis Picks Up Four Dual Wins Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus men's tennis team improved to 7-3 overall Saturday with dual wins over South Dakota State (9-0), Minneosta State Mankato (8-1), Macalester (9-0) and Duquesne (6-3). Andy Bryan, Jesse Brauer, and Mike Burdakin each went 4-0 on the day with two singles wins and two doubles wins. Ben Tomasek and John Kauss were each 3-1.

Indoor Track and Field Competes at MSU Open

The Gustavus Adolphus indoor track and field teams made the short trek to Mankato Saturday to take part in the MSU Open hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato. Andy Klaers won the weight throw with a toss of 54 feet, 5.5 inches. No team scores were kept.

Women’s Indoor Track and Field Fourth at MSU’s Ted Nelson Classic

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team racked up 88 points to finish fourth at the Ted Nelson Classic Saturday hosted by Minnesota State Mankato. Funto Okanla and Kourtney Joyce picked up first place finishes in the 60 meter dash and 5000 meter run, respectively. The Gusties return to the track next Saturday when they participate in the Minnesota Parents' Day Invite at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.

Men’s Indoor Track and Field Claims Third at Ted Nelson Classic

The Gustavus men's indoor track and field team claimed no titles at Saturday's Ted Nelson Classic hosted by Minnesota State Mankato, but a number of top-four finishes allowed the Gusties to place third in the four team field with 78.50 points. MSU easily outdistance the field, compiling 221 points. University of North Dakota finished second with 134.50 points.

The Gustavus men's tennis team opened its home slate with a pair of victories Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Gusties opened the day with an 8-1 win over Minnesota State Mankato and wrapped it up with 9-0 win over Bethel in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tilt.

The Gustavus indoor track and field team posted a pair of school records while competing in the MSU Open Saturday in Mankato. Sari Lindeman set a new mark in the triple jump with a distance of 36 feet, 5 3/4 inches, while Jered Hokenson cleared 6 feet, 5 inches during the high jump portion of the indoor pentathlon competition.

Men’s Swimming and Diving Downs Minnesota State in Opener

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team picked up wins in eight events, including both relays, to win a season-opening dual against Minnesota State, Mankato, 180-120, on Saturday at the Lund Natatorium in St. Peter. Junior Scott Hagemeyer (Willmar, Minn.) picked up four first-place finishes (two individual, two relay) on the afternoon for Gustavus.
