Former women’s hockey standout and 2011 Gustavus graduate Kirstin Peterson returns to campus as the assistant women’s hockey coach. Peterson, a mainstay of the Gustavus blue line the past four seasons, recently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Fitness in May.

The MIAC women's hockey coaches have named Gustavus junior defender Andrea Peterson the 2006 Player of the Year. Head Coach Mike Carroll was also named Coach of the Year. Joining Peterson on the all-conference team were senior Abby Randall, junior Kelly Crandall, sophomores Molly Doyle and Margaret Dorer, and first year Mari Gunderson.
The Gustavus women's hockey team was rewarded for its MIAC regular season title by receiving the majority of the post-season awards from the MIAC. Andrea Peterson was named Player of the Year and Mike Carroll was named Coach of the Year.
