Gustavus Adolphus freshman running back Jeffrey Dubose has been named MIAC Football Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Gustavus’s 42-14 win over Hamline on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus Adolphus College first-year forward Ross Ring-Jarvi (Anoka, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 15, 2008. Ring-Jarvi tallied three points on one goal and two assists in the Gusties' 6-3 win over No. 13 UW-Stevens Point on Saturday in Stevens Point, Wis.
Gustavus junior linebacker Tony Palma (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) has been named MIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his play against Bethel University last Saturday. Palma played a key role in the Gusties' defensive effort in a 17-10 win over the Royals in Arden Hills, Minn. as he tallied 12 tackles with six solo stops and an interception. His interception sealed the victory as he picked off a pass at the Gustavus seven-yard line with 00:48 remaining as Bethel threatened to tie the game.
