Women’s Hockey Edges Hamline 3-2 On Late Goal

In a back-and-forth MIAC women’s hockey battle, Gustavus landed the final blow Friday night at Warner Coliseum in St. Paul to defeat Hamline 3-2. The Gusties started the scoring, but the Pipers answered goal-for-goal until Allie Schwab knocked home the game-winner with 3:06 left in the game. Gustavus returns to the win column after a tie and loss in its previous two outings and improves to 15-1-2 overall and 10-0-1 in the MIAC, while the Pipers fall to 8-8-2 overall and 4-6-1 in league play.

Women’s Hockey Remains Unbeaten, Completes Sweep Over UW-Stevens Point 5-2

The Gustavus women’s hockey team kept it’s unbeaten record intact Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Stevens Point, Wis. The Gusties improve to 11-0-1 on the season, while the Pointers fall to 6-4-2.

Women’s Hockey Sweeps Augsburg 7-2, Wins Eighth-Straight

The Gustavus women’s hockey team completed the regular season series sweep over Augsburg Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 win in St. Peter, Minn. Seven different Gusties tallied a goal improving their record to 8-0-0 overall, while picking up two points in the MIAC standings with a 6-0-0 league mark.

Junior Lindsey Hjelm (Noth Oaks, Minn.) returns as the Gusties' top point-scorer. 

Women’s Hockey Opens 2011-12 Campaign Friday

The Gustavus women’s hockey team kicks off its 2011-12 campaign Friday, Nov. 4, playing host to Concordia University of Mequon, Wis.
