Josh Owens Named MIAC Indoor Field Athlete Of The Week For Second Time This Season

For his record-setting performance at the Pre-MIAC Meet last weekend, Gustavus junior John Owens has been named MIAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. This is the second time the Brooklyn Park, Minn. has received the recognition this season.

Men’s And Women’s Indoor Track & Field Have Record-Setting Day At Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams took part in the Pre-MIAC Meet hosted by Macalester College in St. Paul on Friday. Both the Gustie men and women had strong showings at the conference meet precursor setting Macalester indoor and field house records, but the men had an exceptional performance from their top pole vaulter.

Men’s And Women’s Indoor Track & Field Take Second At CSB-SJU Quadrangular

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams each took second place at the College of Saint Benedict-Saint John’s University Quadrangular with 172 and 157.5 points, respectively, Saturday in Collegeville, Minn.

Eric Jorgenson recorded two top-three finishes in St. Cloud, taking second in the 800-meter run and third in the 400-meter dash.

Josh Owens Named Men’s Indoor Field Athlete Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named Gustavus junior Josh Owens as its Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Ted Nelson Classic at Minnesota State University-Mankato on Saturday. Owens won the pole vault against a field of NCAA Division II teams, clearing a height of 15-9.25 feet – 5.75 inches higher than the second place vaulter.

Sophomore Blair Riegel recorded three top-three finishes on the day, winning the long jump in the process.

Men’s Track & Field In Second Place Following Day One Of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men's track and field team recorded 44.5 points in day one of competition at the 2011 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held in St. Peter, Minn. Saint John's is the currently leader with 67 points, while St. Thomas sits in second with 36.5 points.

 

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Currently In Third Place At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team is currently in third place with 40 points after the second day of competition at the 2011 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Men’s Track and Field Wins Carleton’s Meet Of Hearts

The Gustavus men's track and field team captured first place in six events while posting a team score of 181 to win Carleton's Meet of Hearts on Saturday, February 12, in Northfield. Blair Riegel led the Gusties, winning three events on the day.
