Gymnasts End Year At NCGA Championships

Gustavus gymnasts Christine Askham, Aryn Bell, Jess Dolan, Laura Hansen, and Meghan Johnson saw their 2009 seasons come to an end after competing at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships hosted by Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. on Friday night.

Van Sickle Named To Men’s Basketball All-Conference Team, Johnson Named To All-Rookie Team

Gustavus Adolphus men's basketball player Jesse Van Sickle (Jr., Garden City, Minn./LCWM) has been named All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference by a vote of the league's coaches. Bobby Johnson (Fy., Edina, Minn.) was named to the All-Rookie Team, while juniors Ryan McPartland (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) and Sam Paulson (Waseca, Minn.) received honorable mention.

Men’s Soccer Weathers Storm 4-0

The Gustavus men's soccer team secured their second win in as many days Sunday, downing the Simpson College Storm 4-0 in Indianola, Iowa. Sophomore J.T. Johnson added three more points to his season total Sunday when he assisted on Caleb Bousu's game-winner and connected on a shot from the 50-yard-line of the football field in Buxton Stadium for his third goal of the weekend. Trevor Brown and Tyler Garry shared the Gustie's first shutout of the season. Gustavus moves to 2-1-1 with the victory.

Men’s Soccer Downs Nebraska Wesleyan 3-1; Johnson Scores Twice

Gustavus forward J.T. Johnson scored two goals and assisted on a third in a span of six minutes, 46 seconds in the second half Saturday to lead the Gusties to a 3-1 road victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. The win moves Gustavus to 1-1-1 on the season. The Gusties play at Simpson on September 11 before opening MIAC play Wednesday, September 14 at Carleton.

Two Gusties Earn All-America Honors

Gustavus Adolphus College men's golfers Neil Johnson and Luke Benoit earned All-America honors for their performances at the NCAA Championships held May 12-15 in Delaware, Ohio.
