Football Loses Homecoming Game 30-22 To St. ThomasThe Gustavus football team scored 22 second half points after facing a 16-0 halftime deficit, but it would not be enough as St. Thomas held on for a 30-22 victory to spoil Homecoming for the Gusties on Saturday in St. Peter. St. Thomas running back Ben Wartman ran for 196 yards and two touchdowns as the Tommies held the ball for 39:28 during the game compared to 20:32 for Gustavus. The Gusties dropped to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC.
Football Falls to Bethel In Homecoming Tilt 40-0Bethel quarterback Ben Wetzell ran for three scores and threw for another to lead Royals past Gustavus Adolphus 40-0 in Saturday's Homecoming game at Hollingsworth Field in St. Peter. The Gusties, who fall to 2-3 overall, 1-3 in the MIAC, were limited to 88 yards of offense by a stingy Royals defense. Gustavus travels to Collegeville to face league-leading Saint John's next Saturday.
Football to Host Bethel for HomecomingGustavus welcomes Bethel University to Lloyd Hollingsworth Field this weekend for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Gusties are 2-2, 1-2 in the MIAC after last weekend's 41-13 home loss to St. Olaf. Bethel enters today's contest with a 4-1 overall record, 2-1 in the MIAC after a 17-7 win over St. Thomas last weekend.
