Gustavus Women’s Athletics To Host Annual Golf Tournament

Gustavus Adolphus College Women’s Athletics is set to host its annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 13th, 2011 at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn. The tournament is a four-person scramble and will begin with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.

Women’s Soccer Tops Hamline 3-0

The Gustavus women’s soccer team snapped a four-game losing skid with a 3-0 victory over Hamline on a cold, rainy, and windy Wednesday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Ashley Anderson, Nicole Kwapick, and Amanda Cartony all scored a goal on the way to Gustavus’s second MIAC victory of the season. With the win, Gustavus improves to 2-8 in the MIAC and 6-11 overall, while Hamline falls to 0-10 in the MIAC and 5-12 overall.

Women’s Soccer Drops Narrow MIAC Contest 1-0 To Macalester

The Gustavus women’s soccer team suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at the hands of Macalester on Wednesday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Macalester midfielder Maggie Molter netted the game-winning goal in the 68th minute to hand Gustavus its sixth MIAC loss of the season. The Gusties fall to 5-9 overall and 1-5 in the MIAC, while the Scots improve to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the MIAC.

Loras Too Much For Women’s Soccer, Gusties Fall 4-1

The Gustavus women’s soccer team had its work cut out for them against No. 8-ranked Loras College on Sunday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties fell 4-1 as Loras’s Kate Young recorded one goal and two assists in the match. Kristin Moen scored the lone Gustavus goal in the 82nd minute.

Women’s Soccer Falls To Simpson 3-2 In Double OT

The Gustavus women’s soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 double overtime loss to Simpson College on Saturday afternoon in a sunny St. Peter, Minn. Simpson tied the match at 2-2 with :33 seconds left in regulation, then went on to score the game-winning goal in double overtime. Gustavus's Ashley Anderson led the team with two goals on the afternoon.
