Men’s Golf Receives GCAA Academic Honor

The Gustavus men's golf team is one of seven NCAA Division III men's golf teams to receive President’s Special Recognition status from the Golf Coaches Association of America. 

Men’s Golfers Garner PING All-Region, Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Accolades

The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday announced the Division III PING All-Region Teams as well as the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars and four Gustavus men’s golfers received accolades. Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) and Ben Hauge (Fy., Ramsey, Minn.) were named to the 15-member All-Central Region Team, while Captain, Alec Aunan (Jr., Rock Island, Ill.), and Sam Majka (Sr., Wayzata, Minn.) were named All-America Scholars.

Three Gusties Named MIAC Men’s Golf All-Conference, Hauge Freshman Of The Year

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s golf postseason awards Monday and three Gusties were recognized. Ben Hauge (Fy., Ramsey, Minn.) highlighted the awards as he was named MIAC Freshman-of-the-Year, while Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) and Alec Aunan (Jr., Rock Island, Ill.) join Hauge on the All-Conference Team.

Men’s Golf Ends Season With Sixth Place Finish At Saint John’s Invite

In the final event of the season Sunday, the Gustavus men’s golf team jumped up two spots at the Saint John’s Spring Invitational, finishing in sixth place of 16 teams with a two-round total of 601 (+29). The Gusties shot 307 in Saturday’s first round and improved to 294 in Sunday’s second round. Sunday’s third round was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Men’s Golf Sits In Eighth Place After Round One At Saint John’s Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team carded a first round score of 307 (+19) Saturday at the Saint John’s Spring Invitational, played at Territory Golf Club, and sit in a tie for eighth place out of 16 teams. Host Saint John’s leads the field after day one with a 292, while Augsburg and UW-Eau Claire are tied for second at 295.

The Gustavus men's golf team will compete in its final regular season spring invitational this weekend at Saint John's Spring Invitational in St. Cloud and Monticello, Minn.

Men’s Golf Takes Third At Bobby Krig Invite

In the second round Monday, the No. 20 Gustavus men’s golf team posted the lowest round of the day at the Bobby Krig Invitational to move into second place and within striking range of the title, but couldn’t replicate the result in the third and final round, finishing third with a score of 887 (+39). No. 15 nationally ranked Illinois Wesleyan won the event with an 875, while No. 11 Saint John’s took second at 883.

Men’s Golf Tied For Fourth Place At Bobby Krig Invite After First Round

After round one of three at the Bobby Krig Invitational, the Gustavus men’s golf team sits in fourth place out of 16 teams, shooting a 298 (+10), which was played at Ridges at Sand Creek. Saint John’s and Illinois Wesleyan lead the field, both shooting a first round score of 291 (+3). Augsburg is in third place with a 294, while Saint John’s B and Gustavus are tied for fourth.

Men’s Golf To Host Bobby Krig Invite

The Gustavus men's golf team is set to host the 2017 Bobby Krig Invite Sunday through Monday, with Sunday’s first round to be played at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn. and Monday’s final round at Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn.

Aunan Leads Men’s Golf At Central Minnesota Triangular

The Gustavus men's golf team turned in a team score of 294 Friday to finish third in a triangular with Augsburg College and Saint John's University at Monticello Country Club.
