Baseball Splits Doubleheader At Carleton 1-6, 6-0

The Gustavus baseball team picked up a doubleheader split against Carleton on Wednesday afternoon in Northfield. The Knights came away with a 6-1 win in the first game, but Andrew Woitas and Kevin Hagen combined to hurl a one-hit shutout in game two to help the Gusties earn the split in a 6-0 decision. Alan Woitas led the squad at the plate as he combined to go for 5-for-9 and scored three runs in both games.

Men’s Tennis Defeats Carleton 8-1 To Remain Unbeaten In MIAC

The Gustavus men's tennis team remained undefeated in conference play as the Gusties defeated Carleton 8-1 on Thursday in Northfield. Gustavus, which has won 221 consecutive league matches, improved to and 7-0 in the MIAC and 19-8 overall. Head Coach Steve Wilkinson's squad returns to action against Kalamazoo on Sunday, April 19 at 10 a.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.

The Gustavus men's basketball team moved one step closer to earning a spot in the MIAC Playoffs by defeating Carleton 59-53 on Monday night at Gus Young Court. In a very physical contest, the Gusties dominated the boards out-rebounding the Knights 39-23 eliminating second-chance scoring opportunities. Gustavus also executed on the offensive end, shooting 51.1 percent from the field. In a game that was a true team effort, no Gustie reached double-figures.

Late Carleton Free Throws Sink Men’s Basketball In 72-67 loss

The Gustavus men's basketball team was unable to score in the last minute of the game as Carleton hit its free throws to hand the Gusties a 72-67 loss on Wednesday in Northfield. Gustavus held a 67-66 lead with 1:06 remaining, but the Knights made six straight free throws to grab the win. Ryan McPartland was the top Gustie scorer with 17 points followed by Bobby Johnson and Sam Paulson with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Shooting Woes Continue As Women’s Basketball Team Falls To Carleton 51-46

The Gustavus women's basketball team shot an ice-cold 25.0 percent from the field (17-of-68) against Carleton on Wednesday night and the result was a 51-46 loss to the Knights in Northfield. The Gusties battled for the entire 40 minutes and led for a good portion of the second half, but just could not make enough shots to secure the victory. Molly Geske and Molly Mathiowetz each scored nine points to lead Gustavus, which fell to 10-5 overall and 8-4 in the MIAC.

Two blocked extra point attempts late in the game helped the Gustavus football team defeat 22nd-ranked Carleton College 30-29 in an overtime thriller in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday. Head coach Jay Schoenebeck's squad first blocked point after attempt came with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, forcing the game into overtime when the Gusties deflected another extra point for the victory.

The Gustavus football team will square off against No. 22 Carleton College on Saturday, October 18 at 1 p.m. in Northfield, Minn. The Gusties head to Northfield with an overall record of 3-2 after defeating Pacific Lutheran 24-14 last Saturday, while the Knights come in with an overall record of 5-0 after defeating Augsburg 49-41 a week ago. Gustavus is 1-2 in the MIAC standings and Carleton is 3-0 in league play.

For the second time in three games, the Gustavus Adolphus volleyball team hit over .300 to give the Gusties a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-20, 25-22) over Carleton College on Wednesday in St. Peter. Head coach Kari Eckheart's squad recorded 47 kills and 12 errors en route to a .340 hitting percentage. With the win, Gustavus moved into a tie for fourth place in the MIAC standings with Carleton at 4-2.

Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision At Carleton

The Gustavus women's soccer team traveled to Northfield, Minn. for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match against the Knights of Carleton College. After a scoreless first half, Carleton was able to take the lead in the 71st minute from a goal by Nicky Bloom. Senior goalkeeper Ashley Ohlson made four saves for the Gusties in the loss. Gustavus falls to 2-5-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the MIAC, while Carleton moves to 5-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in MIAC play.

Men’s Soccer Sees Five Match Winning Streak End With 2-0 Loss To Carleton

The Gustavus men's soccer team saw its five-match win streak come to a screeching halt with a 2-0 loss to Carleton in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. The Knights got two first half goals from Paul Pedtke and then held on for the shutout victory. Gustavus falls to 6-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the MIAC, while Carleton improves to 9-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the MIAC.
