Women’s Basketball Continues Winning Ways With 87-68 Victory at Augsburg
The Gustavus women's basketball team picked up its third straight win and ninth win in its last ten games with an 87-68 win over Augsburg in Minneapolis on Monday night. The Gusties raced out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back on their way to the convincing victory. Molly Mathiowetz led Gustavus with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Men’s Basketball Continues To Struggle, Falls To Augsburg 75-70
Augsburg’s Jon Cassens scored 17 second half points, leading the Auggies to a 75-70 victory over the Gustavus men’s basketball team on Monday night in St. Peter, Minn. Augsburg closed the gap on a 12-point second half Gustavus lead to hand the Gusties their second consecutive MIAC loss. Augsburg’s David Olson scored a game-high 23 points, as Jesse Van Sickle led the Gusties with 18 points.
Men’s Hockey Defeats Augsburg 3-2 To Complete Weekend Sweep
The Gustavus men's hockey team jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on for an important 3-2 win over Augsburg in Minneapolis on Saturday night. The Gusties got goals from Rory Dynan, Brad Wieck, and Joe Welch, while Josh Swartout registered 15 saves and picked up the win in goal.
Bigham’s Big Night Sparks Men’s Hockey Team To 6-2 Win Over Augsburg
Senior forward Eric Bigham scored two goals and assisted on two others to help the Gustavus men's hockey team post a convincing 6-2 win over Augsburg College at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Friday night. The Gusties led 2-0 after one period and 5-1 after two periods, before claiming the 6-2 victory. Bigham picked up assists on the first two Gustavus goals and then scored the Gusties third and sixth goals. Josh Swartout picked up the win in the nets.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Second At CSB/SJU Invitational
The Gustavus women's swimming and diving team took second place (692 pts) at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn. Carrie Gundersen was the top Gustavus swimmer with wins in both the 200 (1:59.66) and 500 free (5:16.98) and a third place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:18.75). St. Cloud State University won the meet with 835 points.
Men’s Basketball Defeats Augsburg In Overtime 77-72
The Gustavus men's basketball team got it's fourth straight MIAC win on Wednesday night in Minneapolis, Minn., with a 77-72 overtime victory over Augsburg. Two free throws by Phil Wirtjes with three seconds left in regulation would send the game into overtime. The Gusties would then go on to shoot 4-4 from the field and 9-13 from the line in overtime, giving them the five-point victory. Seth Anderson and Ryan McPartland led all scorers with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

First year post Abby Rothenbuehler recorded a career high 19 points and added a career high 15 rebounds to lead the Gustavus women's basketball team to a convincing 80-39 win over Augsburg on Wednesday evening at Gus Young Court in St. Peter.
Baseball Earns 2-1 Walk-Off Win To Split Series With Augsburg, Drops Second Game 3-0
Matt Morgan delivered a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap off a two-run rally to give the Gustavus baseball team a 2-1 walk-off win over Augsburg on Saturday in St. Peter. The Gusties dropped the second game of the doubleheader 3-0. Alan Woitas went the distance on the mound for Gustavus in game one to improve to 2-0, while Brandon Knoll suffered the loss in the nightcap.
Women’s Basketball Posts Convincing 72-44 Victory Over Augsburg
The Gustavus women's basketball team, which was playing its first home game in nearly a month, responded with a strong performance and ran past Augsburg 72-44. The Gusties, who led by nine at half (35-26), pulled away from the second half as they outscored the Auggies 37-18. Senior guard Emily Nelson led all scorers with 17 points.
Men’s Basketball Struggles Down The Stretch In 65-58 Loss At Augsburg
Augsburg went on a decisive 13-6 run at the end of the game to hand the Gustavus men's basketball team a 65-58 loss on Monday night in Minneapolis. Ryan McPartland made a layup to tie the contest at 52-52 with four minutes remaining, but Gustavus only managed to hit a pair of three-pointers the rest of the way. The Gusties, who dropped to 9-9 overall and 8-5 in the MIAC, had three players reach double-figures, including Sam Paulson with 15, Jesse Van Sickle with 12, and Ryan McPartland with 10.
