Gustavus junior Josh Owens (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) broke the MIAC men’s outdoor pole vault record Saturday at the Meet of the UnSaintly in St. Paul, clearing a height of 16-6.75. Owens broke the previous record of 16-6.5, which has stood since 1983 (Dave Wenberg, Hamline). Gustavus senior Danielle Burgmeier broke the Gustavus women’s outdoor track record in the 400-meter hurdles Wednesday night at the Mankato State University Twilight Meet in Mankato, Minn. Burgmeier crossed the finish line first with a time of 1:03.42, breaking the previous record of 1:03.61 set by Carlie Hanson in 2006.
