He enjoys crafting elegant and intuitive user interfaces and thinking about things like information architecture and typography. Junior Kaelene LundstrumWomen’s Track And Field Finishes Strong On Final Day To Earn Sixth Place At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus women's track and field team used three top-eight results to finish a program-best sixth place with 27 points on the final day of the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marietta, Ohio. Wartburg College won the team title with 52 points. Kaelene Lundstrum (Jr., Bird Island, Minn.) and Sam Broderius (So., Hector, Minn.) finished second in the high jump and seventh in the shot put, respectively, while the 4x400 meter relay placed eighth.

Kimbra KosakFive Gusties Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District V College Division At-Large Teams

Five Gustavus Adolphus College student athletes have been recognized as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division At-Large Teams. Kimbra Kosak (women's golf), Melissa Mackley (women's hockey), David Martinson (men's hockey) and Dave Pearson (men's swimming and diving) were named to the first team, while John Kauss (men's tennis) was honored on the second team.

Mike DesLauriersBaseball Player Mike DesLauriers Named Second Team Academic All-District V By CoSIDA

Gustavus Adolphus senior baseball player Mike DesLauriers (Minnetonka, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). DesLauriers, a shortstop, carries a 3.64 grade point average with a major in public accounting. A total of four MIAC players were recognized on either the first or second team.

The Gustavus baseball team will open its 2009 season with a non-conference doubleheader against Loras College of Dubuque, Iowa at the Metrodome on Saturday. The Gusties will be led by veterans Mike DesLauriers and Nate Ruff. The Duhawks, who are a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, will also be playing in their first game of the season.
