SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams welcomed St. Olaf to Vic Gustafson Pool and Saturday and came away victorious in the dual meet. The Gustie men defeated the Oles 227-64, while the Gustie women edged the Oles 162-132.

The Gustie men won 15 of 16 events. The 200 medley relay team of Peyton Richardson (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill.), Taylor Vander Juegdt (Sr., Gurnee, Ill.), Dane Hudson (Sr., Eden Prairie), and Andrew Becker (Sr., Northfield) won in 1:35.50. Matt Strom (Jr., Rochester) and Erik Small (Sr., Hudson, Wis.) tied for first in the 200 free with times of 1:46.92. Small also won the 200 IM in 1:59.85 Richardson also won the 100 backstroke in 54.10 and the 200 back in 1:58.57. Nyden Hill (So., Conway, Ark.) finished the 100 breaststroke first in 1:00.34. Jonathan Cordano (So., St. Paul) won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.55 and the 100 fly in 53.09. Becker also won the 50 free in 21.67 and the 100 free in 47.88. Andrew Jensen (Jr., Wyoming) took first in the three-meter diving with a score of 240.50. Farrque Hussein (Sr., Minneapolis) touched the wall first in the 200 breaststroke at 2:15.70. Callen Zemek (Sr., Victoria) won the 500 free in 4:52.88. Ryan Lester (So., Hastings) scored 230.25 in the one-meter dive for first place. The 400 free relay team of Becker, Kieran Ripken (Jr., Blaine), Hudson, and Strom closed out the meet with a first place finish in 3:12.86.

The Gustie women won 10 of 16 events. Marit Isaacson (So., St. Paul) won the 1000 free in 11:05.16, the 500 free in 5:17.29, and the 200 IM in 2:12.68. Mikayla Witte (So., Glencoe) finished first in the 100 backstroke in 1:01.72 and won the 200 back in 2:16.30. Leah Soukup (Jr., Eagan) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.12 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.16. Lucy Peterson (Jr., St. Paul) touched the 50 free wall in 24.70 for first place and the 100 free in 54.65 for first as well. The 400 free relay team of Macey Whitlock (So., Brainerd), Alison Giles (So., Wausau, Wis.), Peterson, and Isaacson finished the meet in first with a time of 3:40.65.

Gustavus hosts the Grace Goblirsch Invite next Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.
