SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team will hit the road Friday and head to Duluth for a 7 p.m. contest with St. Scholastica. The Gusties enter 5-5 overall while the Saints are 4-6-1.

The Series: Friday’s contest marks the 39th all-time meeting between the two teams with the Gusties currently leading the series 19-18-1. The two teams met last season on Dec. 7, with the Saints taking a 3-1 win.

Scouting the Gusties: Gustavus comes into the contest most recently following a series split with St. Scholastica on Saturday. Through 10 games the Gusties average 2.80 goals per game while allowing 2.19. They have been strong on the power play, scoring on 8-of-38 chances fora . percentage of .211. Caleb Anderson leads the Gusties with nine points on four goals and four assists, while Connor Clemons and Nick Klishko each have eight points on three goals and five goals. Robbie Goor has done a bulk of the work in net, starting seven contests, making 186 saves, and allowing 15 goals for a save percentage of .925.

Scouting the Saints: St. Scholastica is most recently coming off a series split with Adrian last weekend. The Saints average 2.09 goals through 11 games while allowing 3.00. On special teams, they been solid on the penalty kill, stopping 47-of-55 opponent power plays for a penalty kill percentage of .855. Scholastica is led by Carson Rose, who has seven goals and three assists for 10 points, while Nate Pionk has three goals and four assists. Zane Steeves has seen time in net in all 11 Saint contests this season, making 305 saves while allowing 26 goals for a save percentage of .921.
