SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s soccer team travels to Hamline Wednesday for its final road game of the season. Kickoff in St. Paul is set for 3:30 p.m. The Gusties enter the match 4-12 overall and 2-7 in the MIAC, while the Pipers are 5-10 overall and 1-8 in the league.

The Series: Today’s match marks the 29th meeting between Gustavus and Hamline with the Gusties holding a 24-3-1 advantage in the all-time series. Last season in Saint Peter, the Gusties and Pipers played to a scoreless double overtime draw on Oct. 24. In the last three meetings, the series is 1-1-1.

Scouting the Gusties: Gustavus most recently lost 1-0 at Concordia on Saturday and is 2-2 in its last four games. Through 16 games, Katie Ashpole leads the offense with 11 points on five goals and an assist. Abby Mullenbach is next with five points on two goals and an assist. Taylor Hemme leads the team with three assists. Ashley Becker has started all 16 games in net with a 1.62 goals against average and a .798 save percentage. Her 100 saves are the most in the MIAC.

Scouting the Pipers: Hamline has lost its last two games, most recently dropping a 1-0 decision against Saint Mary’s on Saturday. Cailey Schmitt and Ashlee Olson lead the offense with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Both have five goals. Gaby Diaz leads the team with four assists. Lauren Sicora and Melanie Hopkins have split time in goal. Sicora has started nine games with a 2.09 goals against average and a .814 save percentage, while Hopkins has six starts, a 1.75 goals against average and a .717 save percentage.
