Stockwell Signs Professional Baseball Contract with Sioux Falls Posted on July 26th, 2019 by

SAINT PETER, Minn. – Recent Gustavus graduate and baseball pitcher Adam Stockwell `19 (Apple Valley, Minn.) today will sign a contract with the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. Stockwell will arrive in Sioux Falls today and is likely to pitch in tonight’s home game against the Kansas City T-Bones, which starts at 7:05 p.m. at the 51-year old Sioux Falls Stadium.

Stockwell was an All-Conference pitcher in 2019 after serving as the Gusties’ ace, compiling a 6-2 record and 2.80 ERA. Stockwell tossed a team-high 54.2 innings and made eight starts with 13 appearances, two complete games, and three saves. His 9.71 strikeouts per game ranked fourth in the MIAC and he led the team with 59 total strikeouts. The Eastview product’s final game was his first career nine-inning complete game in a 6-2 playoff victory over Saint Mary’s. Stockwell finished his career with a 12-11 record, 2.94 seven-inning ERA, and 125 strikeouts, which ranks eighth in program history. His 29 starts are sixth most, 39 appearances are tied for seventh most, and 169 innings are eighth in program history.
