Men’s Golf Set to Begin Spring Season Friday Posted on April 4th, 2019 by

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s golf team will begin its spring season Friday when they travel to Camp Lejune, N.C. In their last event of the fall, the Gusties tied for second in the MIAC Championships with a three round score of 886 (+22).

A big piece of the Gusties success at the MIAC Championships was Jacob Pedersen (Fy., Minnetonka, Minn.) who received medalist honors. Pedersen was the only player to shoot under par in all three rounds as he carded 70, 69, 71 to finish at 210 (-6). The team went to five events last season with Pedersen averaging a team low 72.7. Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn.)  also played well in the fall, finishing in the top five a team-best three times. Hauge’s average of 73.6 was second on the team, while Max Ullan (So., Blaine, Minn.) was third with a 75.6. Ullan was also the only Gustie other than Pedersen to receive medalist honors on the season when he finished in a tie for first at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational with a two round score of 144 (E).

Similarly to the women’s team, the men also finished in the top half of every Invite they took part in. The team’s best finish came when they competed in the Saint John’s Fall Invite and took home second place honors out of 14 teams with a two round score of 593 (+17).
