CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Three Gustavus divers competed at the NCAA Region 1 Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday at Wabash College. Logan Bican (Jr., Monticello, Minn.) and Jonathan Bovee (Sr., Farmington, Minn.) represented the men’s team, while Sophia Steinberg (So., Faribault, Minn.) represented the women.

I’m very proud of our divers’ performances at the NCAA regionals,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “To be able to qualify three divers is unprecedented for our team, and rarely done at all. I think both Logan and Sophia come back from regionals with a better understanding of what it takes to get to the NCAA Championships. For Johnathon, I’m so pumped that he had the best diving of his career in his last meet. A very successful weekend for Gustavus diving!”

Bovee took 13th on the one-meter with a score of 377.50 and 10th on the three-meter at 419.30.

Bican placed 16th on the one-meter with a score of 366.15 and 16th on the three-meter at 366.45.

Steinberg finished 19th on the one-meter with a score of 366.80 and 27th on the three-meter at 291.15.
