BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Chase Johnson (Sr., Golden Valley, Minn.) began the Gustavus men’s tennis team’s dual match season with a singles victory against a Division I opponent. Playing at No. 2 singles, Johnson dropped the first set, 6-1, before fighting back to win consecutive breakers 7-6, 7-6 against North Dakota. Johnson and doubles partner Patrick Whaling lost a close 7-5 score at the No. 1 spot. For his performance, Johnson is the MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
