BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week awards this afternoon, with Michael O’Neil (So., Edina, Minn.) receiving the accolade.
Gustavus earned three victories last Saturday, with O’Neil helping guide the Black and Gold in two of three split-squad matches.
O’Neil won both of his singles and doubles matches as the Gusties defeated Morningside and Saint Mary’s last Saturday. O’Neil started the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles in the home opener against Morningside before hitting the road for a 6-0, 6-2 win at SMU.
The Gusties return to action this weekend, hosting the ITA National Indoor Championships Friday through Sunday at Swanson Tennis Center.
