MEET NOTES

ST. PETER, Minn. The Gustavus gymnastics team is set to head east for a non-conference triangular on the campus of Towson University Sunday afternoon. The meet between the Gusties, Towson, and Southern Connecticut State is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.

Last time out

Gustavus dropped a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet last Saturday at the Sponberg Gymnastics Studio, falling 183.425-179.875 to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Gusties’ best event was the vault were they scored a season-high 46.575. They also tallied 45.675 on the floor, 44.000 on the bars, and 43.625 on the beam.

Leah Heilig (So., Forest Lake, Minn.) and Amanda Malo (Jr., Greenwood, Minn.) both earned second place finishes – Heilig on the vault with a 9.4 to tie a season-high and Malo on both the floor (9.4) and vault (9.4 – season-high). Heilig also took third on the floor, scoring a season-best 9.325. Malo finished with a 36.15 in the all-around to take third place.

  • The Owls, Division I competitors of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, most recently turned in a season-high team score of 191.825, taking 3rd of four teams at Yale University last Saturday.
  • Senior Kathleen Aberger was named the ECAC Gymnast of the Week after tying a school record with a score of 9.85 on the beam at the Don Tonry Invitational.
