ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s soccer team is looking to snap a three-game winless streak Saturday as it hosts St. Catherine at the Gustie Soccer Field in a matchup with playoff implications. The Gusties enter the match with a 7-4-3 overall record and 3-3-2 mark in the MIAC, while the Wildcats are 6-5-2 overall and 4-2-2 in the league.

Scouting the Gusties: Gustavus is coming off consecutive double overtime scoreless draws against Saint Mary’s and Saint Benedict. The Gusties outshot their opponents 28-21 in 220 minutes of action, but were unable to find the back of the net. After 14 games this season, Chase Miller (Jr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) remains as the team’s scoring leader with nine points on three goals and three assist. Hannah Sturtz (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) is second with seven points on three goals and one assists. Sophie Leininger (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) leads the squad with four assists (4th/MIAC). Ashley Becker (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) has started all 14 games in goal with a 0.76 goals against average and .853 save percentage (5th/MIAC).

Scouting the Wildcats: St. Kate’s has won its last two matchups, defeating St. Thomas and UW-River Falls, both by 1-0 decisions. After 13 games this season, Kaitlin Machovec leads the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Madelyn Conners is second with nine points on four goals and one assist. Jessica Perez-Adame and Tayler Koop have split time in goal. The remaining two games after Saturday include at Hamline (6th/13 points) and at home against Macalester (9th/8 points).
